Il cumino si ricava dai semi del Cuminum Cyminum, pianta erbacea perenne originaria dell’Asia Minore. I frutti del cumino contengono un olio essenziale ad attività antispastica sul tubo digerente e digestiva, capace di ridurre la formazione di bolle gassose. Il cumino trova, quindi, impiego in caso 𝙙𝙞 𝙖𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙖, 𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙢𝙤 𝙚 𝙛𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙯𝙖. 𝙄𝙡 𝙘𝙪𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙤 𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙚 𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙤, 𝙙𝙪𝙣𝙦𝙪𝙚, 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙧𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙤 𝙞 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙗𝙞 𝙙𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙞, 𝙡𝙖 𝙙𝙞𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙖 𝙚 𝙡𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙚.
E’ da evitare l’uso del cumino in caso di gravi epatopatie ed, anche, in gravidanza e durante l’allattamento. Il cumino può aumentare l’effetto di alcuni farmaci fotosensibilizzanti. Per tale motivo se ne sconsiglia il consumo, in caso di utilizzo di tali farmaci.
